On September 11th, 2025, the MASTERLY project reached a significant milestone with its second review meeting. All 16 project partners, representing 7 countries, gathered online to present the progress achieved after 33 months of activity. The meeting was a key opportunity to receive feedback from the reviewer, helping to shape the future direction of the last year of the project.
MASTERLY is an EU-funded project focused on developing flexible robotic solutions for sustainable and high-performance manufacturing. The project’s core ambition is to create modular robotic systems enhanced with AI-driven control and smart mechatronics, enabling autonomous handling of various materials in industrial environments.
The meeting highlighted the strong progress achieved during the first 33 months of work.
KLEEMANN – Automating elevator electrical cabinet assembly with AI-driven robotics, mobile manipulators, and human–robot collaboration. Custom grippers, AI vision, skeleton tracking, and AR programming enable safe and flexible handling of diverse components, reducing training needs, enhancing quality, and easing operator workload.

DECATHLON – Automating warehouse piece picking through AI vision and a flexible gripper. Product clustering, advanced vision, and centralized workflow control address variability and orientation challenges, boosting productivity, reducing errors, and improving working conditions for scalable deployment.
AERNNOVA – Deploying smart overhead cranes to handle large aeronautical parts with precision and safety. Features like anti-swing control, collision avoidance, and 3D perception ensure accurate and secure operations, while human–machine interaction brings flexibility. The solution improves efficiency, safety, and competitiveness in aeronautics manufacturing.

Partners presented the transition from research and development to the implementation phase in industrial environments.
Reviewers acknowledged the advancements made and provided valuable feedback for the next steps. This milestone marks an important moment for MASTERLY as the project moves closer to real-world validation.
